Hindu temple ‘vandalised’: Canadian journalist Daniel Bordman explains how it was targeted by Khalistanis 3rd time; watch video
A Hindu temple in Surrey, British Columbia – the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir – was vandalised for the third time on Sunday night.
Canadian journalist Daniel Bordman posted a video about it, saying that two people spray-painted the temple and stole a security camera at around 3 a.m
"I spoke to the management, and they said that at 3 am, two people came and graffitied the whole place and stole one of the video cameras," Bordman could be heard saying in the video. "The community is upset, and they also don't feel like that political class is going to do anything, and they don't feel like the police are on their side," he added.
In his video, Bordman said the temple’s management and worshippers feel that police and political leaders aren’t doing enough to protect them or take the issue seriously.
I went to the Lakshmi Mandir in Surrey that was vandalized last night by Khalistanis. This is the 3rd time it has been vandalized.
I spoke to management and the devotees and they do not feel like the police or the political establishment cares at all. pic.twitter.com/xfppoSTHf4

He also mentioned that another place of worship – the Ross Street Gurdwara in Vancouver – was also vandalised with pro-Khalistan graffiti, a slogan linked to a Sikh separatist movement.
The Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce strongly condemned the temple attack, calling it an act of hatred and urged the government to take quick action.
🚨 We strongly condemn the vandalism of Laxmi Narayan Mandir in BC by Khalistani extremists.
This act of #Hinduphobia has no place in Canada.
We urge swift action & ask all Canadians to stand united against hate.

Indian-origin Canadian MP Chandra Arya also spoke out. He warned that Khalistani extremists are becoming more powerful and are targeting both Hindu temples and Sikh gurdwaras. He said it's time for Hindu and Sikh Canadians to come together and demand action from the government. Arya said staying silent is no longer an option.
