Indian-origin event manager from Australia to promote musicians back home

Australia-based Ricky Singh, owner of Tans Entertainment that manages events, has now come up with a new division to promote musicians whose career took a hit due to the lockdown or those who don’t have the resources to showcase their talent.
“One has to be a good listener to be able to spot talent,” says Ricky, explaining how he always wanted to start a music label but never got enough time to actually do it. “This forced vacation brought about some positive changes in life. Surrounded by renowned Punjabi singers like Lehmber Hussainpuri, Feroz Khan and Master Saleem, I had seen the struggles it involved to succeed in terms of finance and getting the right platform. With this new venture, I would like to present not only singers, but also models and actors.”
Will he focus only on Punjabi songs? He says, “I am willing to produce a Gujarati or Marathi song if it is good. Our approach is pan-India.”
The second outing of his music label, Tu Hai Zarroori, which released on Wednesday, is a delightful tale of friendship blossoming into love. The video is directed by Dance India Dance and ABCD (Any Body Can Dance) fame Prince Gupta. Tans Entertainment is in collaborating with Prince Gupta Films and the collaboration will result in the release of one single every month.
He adds, “Music, big banners, artistes, all these matter in the entertainment industry. But the knowledge of music matters a lot more. We don’t want an artiste who is just a performer and uses auto-tunes in the name of singing. We recently signed a visually-impaired girl, who has got a great voice.”
