Officials absent from meet to get show-cause notice: Minister
Haryana Minister for Development, Panchayats, Mining and Geology Krishan Lal Panwar has stated that action will be taken against officers found responsible for irregularities in the work of paving a kutcha road leading to agricultural fields at Gudhan village of the district.
Chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee at Rohtak on Monday, Panwar directed Rohtak ADC Narendra Kumar to get the said work completed and impose a fine on the contractor, if required.
Of the 13 complaints taken up at the meeting, 11 were settled on the spot. Hearing a complaint related to Omaxe City, the minister directed the Omaxe City management to deposit over Rs 5 crore bank guarantee within a month.
Cong MLAs, BJP leaders squabble over chairs
A squabble between district BJP president Ranbir Dhaka, Congress MLAs Bharat Bhushan Batra and Shakuntala Khatak and the Rohtak Mayor was witnessed at the beginning of today’s meeting of the committee.
Dhaka and Valmiki, who were sitting next to the minister chairing the meeting, were asked to move by Batra to get the chairs for himself and Khatak. A complainant, who engaged in a verbal duel with BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra, was turned out of the meeting.
Taking a serious notice of the absence of the heads of government departments in the meeting, Panwar said show-cause notices should be issued to the absentees. “The department heads should ensure their presence in the meeting and if they cannot attend it due to any reason, they should give prior information,” the minister maintained.
Listening to a complaint by Rithal Narwal gram panchayat sarpanch, the minister directed the district administration to remove the remaining 14 houses built illegally on the village’s firni and submit a report. Hearing a complaint of Hoshiyar Singh of Maroudi Rangran village, he directed the Block Development and Panchayat Officer of Kalanaur to get all illegal encroachments made on the street behind Prajapat Chaupal removed and get the street opened.
On a complaint of Devender Singh of Kheri Sadh village, Panwar said providing pure and sufficient drinking water to the residents is the responsibility of the government. He asked Sampla Sub-Divisional Magistrate Utsav Anand to get the leakage in the drinking water pipeline repaired under his supervision.
Regarding a complaint of residents of Paras Mohalla, Bada Bazar, about the removal of encroachment from the street, he asked the MC Commissioner to take action within a week. Rajya Sabha member Ram Chander Jangra, Rohtak MLA Bharat Bhushan Batra, Kalanaur MLA Shakuntala Khatak, Rohtak Mayor Ram Avtar Valmiki, DC Dharmender Singh, MC Commissioner Anand Sharma and SP Narendra Bijarnia were also present.
