EB implode as Gokulam win 3-1

East Bengal today paid a heavy price for their defensive lapses, going down to Gokulam Kerala 1-3 ahead of Sunday’s I-League derby.
Playing without their centre back Borja Gomez, East Bengal conceded their first goal in the 21st minute when an unmarked Henry Kisekka cut in from the edge of the box to slot it past goalkeeper Lalthuamawia Ralte. The Kolkata side conceded a second through an own goal by Marti Crespi in the 45+1st minute while trying to clear a Marcus Joseph shot.
Kerala’s star forward Marcus Joseph sealed the issue after being set up by Kisekka in the 65th minute.
East Bengal’s solitary goal came in the 27th minute when Kassim Aidara slotted home from a rebound off the post.
Lukaku takes Inter to last-8
Milan: Romelu Lukaku scored after just 21 seconds as he bagged a brace in a 4-1 thumping of Cagliari that fired Inter Milan into the last-8 of the Italian Cup, while Lazio and Napoli are set for a quarterfinal clash after easing past second-tier opposition Cremonese and Perugia.
Lazio made short work of Cremonese in their easy 4-0 victory in Rome, whereas Napoli secured a 2-0 win against Perugia.
