A silver oak tree located near the administrative block of the school broke after it was struck by lightning around 10:30 am, creating visible scare among the staff and the students, according to a complaint filed by the school with the local police.

Traffic policemen had a tough time maintaining vehicular movement and jams were witnessed on the Parwanoo-Solan highway as well as on roads leading to Kasauli throughout the day. Rahul Verma, Executive Engineer, HP State Electricity Board Limited, Parwanoo, said a blast in the sub-station near Kasauli caused a snag and the work to restore it was under way.
