On Wednesday, during the hearing of the defamation suit filed by Richa Chadha against Payal Ghosh at the Bombay High Court, Payal’s lawyer stated that she was ready to tender an unconditional apology to Richa. The lawyer said Payal ‘innocently’ made the alleged defamatory statement against Richa. Payal had named Richa during her #MeToo allegations on Anurag Kashyap. While her lawyer said Payal is ready apologise, the actress has now changed her mind.
After her lawyer’s statement went viral, Payal took to Twitter and wrote, “I have nothing to do with Ms Chadha. We as women have got to stand with each other, shoulder to shoulder. I don’t want any unintentional harassment to her or me on this matter. My fight for justice is against only Mr Kashyap & I want to focus solely on that right now. Let’s make the world see his true face.”
In another tweet, she added, “I am not apologising to anyone. I have not wronged nor have I given a wrong statement about anyone. I just said what @anuragkashyap72 told me. #SorryNotSorry.”
