Abhinav Bindra biopic has been shelved again

Olympian sharp-shooter Abhinav Bindra’s biopic has gone through several ups and downs before finally landing up on the doorstep of Anil Kapoor and his son Harshvarrdhan Kapoor. However, the recent reports suggest that the project has been put on hold for the time being. The Kapoors have now reportedly moved to another project titled Thar, which is being directed by actor-turned-director Raj Singh Choudhary.

Raj Singh had played the lead in Anurag Kashyap’s Gulaal. Thar is being shot in Rajasthan for Netflix and also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh. On the other hand, the Abhinav Bindra biopic was to be directed by Kannan Iyer who previously directed Ek Thi Daayan. Anil was to play Abhinav’s father and Harshvarrdhan was cast in the titular role of Abhinav Bindra. Earlier, late Rishi Kapoor had been roped in to play the father while Ranbir Kapoor who shares his birthday with Bindra, was to play the role of the Olympian.
