Recently, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) had taken offence saying that it shows the Sikh community in a wrong manner. During a press conference, president of the SGPC Bibi Jagir Kaur had said, “A Sikh character has been portrayed in an objectionable manner in a web series called Grahan, based on the 1984 Sikh genocide. In the series, the charge of Sikh genocide is being levelled against a Sikh character which is condemnable and fabricated.”
Now, the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee has sent a legal notice to Disney+Hotstar. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, president of the DSGMC, shared the copy of the notice and wrote, “Legal notice served to @DisneyPlusHS for objectionable content and information shown in their web series Grahan trailer which shows a Sikh involved in planning/executing 1984.”
