Actress Claudia Ciesla, known for appearances in reality shows like Bigg Boss and films such as Khiladi 786 opposite Akshay Kumar, talks about her inspiring journey from acting to becoming a celebrity nutritionist. She says that her interest in having glowing skin and maintaining her weight was what helped her move in this direction, and led her to publish her book Keep Eating Keep Losing in 2016.
“When I first moved to India in 2009, my focus was entirely on building my acting career. I was fortunate to receive a very warm welcome and appeared in reality shows and films. But alongside the glamour and excitement, I became increasingly aware of the connection between what we eat, how we live and how we feel. Initially, my motivation was very personal; I wanted glowing skin, shiny hair, boundless energy and the ability to manage my weight while being in front of the camera. Over time, however, I realised that nutrition went far beyond appearances. It was the foundation for good health, confidence, and overall quality of life,” she shares.
Soon this realisation turned into a genuine passion “I wanted to not only transform my own life but also help others live healthier, disease-free lives. My passion for nutrition started as a personal quest for health and became a calling. I studied nutrition, earned my certifications and diploma, and slowly transitioned into building Claudia’s Concept of Healthy Living. Today, my work feels like a natural extension of both who I am and what I truly believe in,” she says.
Ask her about any personal health experience that pushed her to study nutrition seriously, and Claudia says, “Yes, absolutely. Acting made me highly aware of my appearance, but beyond that, it also brought my attention to how much food and lifestyle choices influence our energy levels, focus, and emotional balance. I experienced first-hand that even with exercise, if your nutrition isn’t right, your body and mind don’t perform at their best.”
She adds, “The turning point was realising that nutrition is not just about ‘looking good’ for a role or an event. It’s about thriving in your everyday life. I noticed how the right foods could completely change how my skin looked, how my digestion worked, and how clear my mind felt.”
When asked about the challenges of balancing acting and studying nutrition, she reveals, “It was certainly a challenge, because acting requires long hours and unpredictable schedules. But I was deeply motivated to pursue my studies, and that passion helped me make space for it in my life. I would dedicate nights or off-days to studying, attend classes, or work on the go.”
She adds, “Publishing my book, Keep Eating Keep Losing, in 2016, launched by Suniel Shetty with a foreword by Sonakshi Sinha, was a proud moment for me. It proved I could pursue both worlds, and that I didn’t need to give up one dream to follow another.
