Comedy is serious business, says actor Deepesh Bhan
Deepesh Bhan, who has been a part of comedy shows such as FIR, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain, says that being funny on screen is no easy feat.
“It’s a very good saying that comedy is a serious business. Comedy is not an easy task. I remember watching an interview of Anil Kapoor sir and Akshaye Khanna where they said that being a normal actor is easy, but a comedian must have the right timing. In a fraction of a second, you need to take a punch and you need to give various expressions. You should be loud yet subtle and all this happens within a few minutes,” he says.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now
in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is
run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any
bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and
partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense
of the term.
The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
