April 30: LOL – Hasse Toh Phasse on Amazon Prime Video
A local avatar of International Original Series LOL, Hasse Toh Phasse will unite an eclectic group of comedians who have left their own indelible mark on India’s comedy landscape. Aadar Malik, Aakash Gupta, Aditi Mittal, Ankita Shrivastav, Cyrus Broacha, Gaurav Gera, Kusha Kapila, Mallika Dua, Sunil Grover and Suresh Menon, under the vigilant eyes of hosts Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani, will face their toughest challenge till date. Disney+ Hotstar
Winner of Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Director at Golden Globe Awards 2021, Nomadland has six Oscar nominations this year. The movie revolves around a woman (Frances McDormand) who leaves her hometown after her husband dies. She sets off on the road exploring a life outside the conventional society as a modern-day nomad.
April 30: The Disciple
on Netflix
Written and directed by Chaitanya Tamhane, this multi-award-winning film follows the life of Sharad Nerulkar, a role essayed by Aditya Modak. The story encapsulates the journey of Sharad, who diligently follows the traditions and discipline of the old masters — his guru and his father — and devotes his life to becoming an Indian classical music vocalist. However, as the years go by, Sharad starts to wonder whether it’s really possible to achieve the excellence he’s striving for.
April 30: Without Remorse on Amazon Prime Video
Known for his roles in films like Black Panther, Creed and shows like The Wire, Michael B. Jordan will be seen as the lead in this action-thriller titled Without Remorse. The film is based on Tom Clancy’s novel by the same name written in 1993. It will see Jordan aka John Kelly in action, as he seeks justice for the murder of his pregnant wife by Russian soldiers.
