Dhanush and Aishwaryaa part ways after 18 years of marriage

Dhanush gave his fans a shock on Monday night (January 17) when he posted a note on Twitter, announcing split from wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth.

The duo tied the knot in 2004 and had been married for 18 years. They have two sons, Yatra and Linga, aged 15 and 11, respectively. In the note, Dhanush asked for privacy and ensured that he would continue to remain friends with Aishwaryaa but their partnership as a couple ends. Dhanush’s statement read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting. Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with it. Much love always to you all.
