Chandigarh, June 21
Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh thrilled his audience when he dedicated his Vancouver concert to late singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala. In a recent video shared by Diljit, he paid a heartfelt tribute to Moosewala in music and in words.
The clip, which is captioned ‘One love’, shows Diljit on a stage where words ‘This Show Is Dedicated To Our Brothers’ are lit up in the background. He begins with a song that says people are trying to pull down those who find fame, whether it is in the online world or real one. In his own subtle yet powerful style, he mentioned the emotional moment when Moosewala’s father took off his turban during his son’s funeral. Diljit says, “I have immense respect for you and your turban.” He then begins a speech where he tells his audience to stay united. The singer advises Punjabi community to stick together as there are many who are trying to divide us. The clip concludes when he suddenly begins singing, ‘Moosewala naam dila utte likheya, bai khasa jor lag ju mitaun waste (Moosewala’s name is written on hearts, it will take a lot to wipe it off).”
The minute Diljit mentions Moosewala, the crowd bursts into applause. The post too has received immense love from Moosewala and Diljit fans.
