Director-actor Anurag Kashyap undergoes angioplasty

Last week Anurag Kashyap had mild chest pain and was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Now we hear that the filmmaker has undergone an angioplasty. Anurag is currently at home and recovering. A source close to the director says, “Angiography revealed a few blockages in his heart. He was immediately admitted for surgery.” The source also said that Anurag has been advised rest for a week.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Anurag was last seen with Anil Kapoor in Vikramaditya Motwane’s AK vs AK, which was released on Netflix. The filmmaker is reuniting with Taapsee Pannu after Manmarziyaan. Taapsee and Anurag collaborated for sci-fi thriller Dobaaraa. After wrapping up the film in March, Anurag was busy working on the film’s post-production from his home in Mumbai. The film also stars Pavail Gulati in the lead role.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.
