Director Rahul Khan wins Dadasaheb Phalke Indian Television Award 2021

Bollywood film director Rahul Khan won the Best Debut Director award at Dadasaheb Phalke Indian Television Award 2021 for his film ‘Beti Hindustan Ki’. The film has a strong social message about the life of Kinnars in our society. ‘Beti Hindustan Ki’ star cast includes Faisal Khan, Israr Sabri, Manoj Bakshi, Bobby Kumar, Sandra David, Aakib Khan, Heena Adhikari, Akshay Dhanka, Eram Khan, Priyank Kumar and King Smokey.

Expressing his joy about winning the award, director Rahul Khan says, “I’m very happy that I got the Dadasaheb Phalke Indian Television Award for my first film. It’s a dream of every actor or director to win this award. It’s a huge achievement for me. I feel my struggle of 11 years has finally paid off.”

He also shared the announcement on his Instagaram. He wrote, “Continuing the legacy of Dadasaheb Phalke ji- the father of Indian cinema- I am in pride for the recognition of my profession. Big thanks for giving me this opportunity to receive this award from an organization, I admire so much makes me happy and grateful.

Khan further adds, “It’s a huge award in Bollywood. My focus will always be to make such films that have an impactful message. My parents, in fact my entire family, believed in my dreams and that has a huge role to play in where I am today.”

Rahul Khan hails from Uttar Pradesh. At a young age, Khan came to the city of dreams, Mumbai, to fulfil his cinematic goals. From working as an assistant director for various shows to making video songs and films, the filmmaker has come a long way. Some of his known work includes ‘Maa’, ‘Disco Nights’ and ‘Karmaphal Daata Shani’.  Rahul continues, “My elder brother Faisal Khan lives in the USA but he has always been a great support in my career. The award has become more special because I got it on the same day when Faisal Khan got honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Indian Television Award 2021 in the category of International Actor & Producer. I’m quite elated.”
