‘Don’t want to be an escapist’

Director Rohit Shetty has carve a separate niche for himself in the industry. However, the one film hat failed to find favour with the audience was Cirkus, a comedy starring Ranveer Singh, which turned out to be a box-office disaster.

Recently, Rohit opened up about how he dealt with the unflattering reviews and audience response to the 2022 Ranveer Singh-starrer. “The audience has given me so much love. They still give me that much love. If they felt there was something wrong, then there must be something wrong. There is no denying the fact. The narrative of the screenplay of Cirkus must not have worked. I don’t want to be an escapist, I acknowledge that mistakes were made and that is the fact of live,” Rohit said.
