I did not know if I wanted to become an actor. It just happened. I was selected for an advertising campaign while sitting at a café and that is how my journey began.

My first break was a print advertisement. I started modelling and then it progressed to my television journey.

What interested you to do Amrit Manthan?

The script, the character and, of course, producer Rajan Shahi sir. Working with him was amazing.

Do you think Amrit Manthan and Naagin made you a star?

Well, all these shows are very close to me. If audiences like the show, it is the audience which makes you a star.

How much has your life changed after doing these two shows?

Amrit Manthan was eight years ago and as a person, I did change a lot. I am a very different person now. These two shows definitely changed me as an actor and as a person.

How will you define yourself as an actor?

I think I am a director’s actor. Whatever the director wants me to do, I will do it. I think that is what I am naturally.

You are known for making style statements. What’s your style mantra?

I truly believe that every actor should have their own personal style because acting like someone or copying someone doesn’t help you much. Your own style is what attracts people.

What do you love about acting?

As an actor you get to feel and play different characters. You get to work with different actors; you learn from them, some become a part of you for life as friends. Also, as an actor you can express yourself, how you want to connect with the audience.

What do you dislike about acting?

Crying is something I really dislike.

What is the growth trajectory for an actor?

Do good shows and nowadays social media plays a very important role in your personal branding. So make sure that you do it well.

What are your interests besides acting?

I love travelling.
