From Saif Ali Khan to Salman Khan: A pattern of attacks on Bollywood stars

Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was injured after he was attacked by a knife-wielding thief during a burglary attempt at his house in the early hours of Thursday. His wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and children, Taimur and Jeh, are safe. Here are some celebrities who faced similar attacks in the recent past.

Salman Khan

Two motorcycle-borne miscreants fired gunshots at Salman Khan’s house in Galaxy Apartments, Mumbai, in April 2024.  Later, Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the attack in a Facebook post. Mumbai Police soon received a message for a ransom of Rs 5 crore for Salman’s ‘forgiveness’ or he would face a fate ‘worse than Baba Siddique’, who was fatally shot on October 12, 2024.

Raghav Tiwari

On December 30, 2024, actor Raghav Tiwari faced a road rage incident in Mumbai’s Versova area. He collided with a motorcycle while crossing the road and the rider, reportedly identified as Mohammad Zaid, son of director Parvez Shaikh, allegedly stabbed him two times.

NT Ramaswamy

Telugu actor NT Ramaswamy was attacked by a woman during the screening of the film Love Reddy in October 2024. During an interaction with the audience later, a woman slapped Ramaswamy and grabbed his collar, apparently disturbed by his negative role in the film.

Mushtaq Khan

Actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his roles in 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke' and 'Stree 2', was kidnapped while he was going to Meerut after being invited for an event. He was tortured for a few hours and the kidnappers demanded Rs 2 lakh from him. However, he somehow managed to escape.

Sunil Pal

Sunil Pal, comedian, allegedly faced a similar situation last year, as he was kidnapped while travelling to Uttarakhand for a show. A ransom demand of Rs 20 lakh was made from him, but he reportedly could only pay Rs 8 lakh before a case was registered.
