Can you name some of your OTT projects?

I made a debut with Crackdown on Voot, which was directed and produced by Apoorva Lakhia. Another web series that I am doing is Bhaukaal Season 2, which will be airing on MX Player. It has been directed by Jatin Wagle.

You are also doing Crackdown 2. What is your role in it?

I played the character of a terrorist, Hamid, in season one. The reason I am there in the second season is because Apoorva sir said that it would have a major prequel portion too. He told me about including one sequence, which shows the past four years, where I will be playing a younger Hamid.

How is it working with Apoorva Lakhia for the second time?

I loved working with him and when he said that in the second season the story will be moving forward yet he wanted to include me, I was really excited. He said that he really liked me as an actor and I felt so grateful.

You are doing a number of OTT projects. Are you enjoying this phase?

It feels great. I have been on TV for long, enjoyed doing it and learnt a lot. I don’t mind doing it again as I like all the mediums. I loved playing a lot of characters on television too. Here also, there is a small difference as we get the script on time and there is more time to work on characters.

OTT boom is a blessing in disguise given the pandemic situation; what are your views?

Yes, it is. In the pandemic everyone is stuck at home and TV shows had to be stalled, that’s when OTT took over and provided great entertainment for people. The shows on OTT are really good and it feels great to see that a new avenue has opened up, which gives everyone a chance to prove themselves.

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

Hopefully having done more work and better placed in the entertainment industry. Generally, I don’t plan anything and believe in following God’s path. I started in 2004 and have been working continuously.

What kind of roles are you looking for?

I am looking for all kinds of roles. OTT offers you different options. In one series I am playing a cop, in another, a terrorist; in yet another I am playing a lover and in one more, an anti-hero.

Tenali Rama was your last TV show. Would you like to do a typical daily soap?

Yes, definitely; I enjoyed playing the character of Praylainker in Tenali Rama. It was a kind of comic villain. I love TV and also OTT. If I get a great role on TV, I will definitely take it up.
