What made you pick SSK 2?

After Shakti, I was searching for a wholesome entertainment package – basically the role of a complete Indian hero. Someone who has got all the qualities that a mother would like to see in her son, a girl would like to see in her man. My role of Aarav in SSK2 is just like that.

The first season of SSK was a big hit. Is there any pressure of expectations?

I don’t take pressure. I always tell my co-stars that pressure comes to your brain, but if you are thinking from your heart you know you have worked honestly and that shows on the screen.

As cases of Covid-19 are rising again, were you reluctant to work?

I was not reluctant at all. We need to keep working to entertain our audiences, as they all are at home now. It is our responsibility as an actor to entertain them. If I can make them forget what’s going on in the world and put a smile on their face, nothing is better than that.

What kind of precautions are you taking?

The channel and our producer Rashmi Sharma have put us in a hotel. It’s a very good set-up. No one is going out or coming in. As a precaution, I am drinking warm water. I have got one trainer for me and after pack-up he trains me well.

You keep a low profile in social media, why?

I am a private person and don’t want to post on social media what I am eating for my breakfast, lunch and dinner. But I do get an opportunity to interact with my followers through social media. When I am not working, I love to spend time with myself.

What do fans mean to you?

I feel indebted to them; I owe everything to them. Sometime when I am working for 14 hours, what motivates me is their love.

Can you name any performance by an actor that has inspired you?

Amitabh Bachchan in Deewar, Shah Rukh Khan in DDLJ; Al Pachino in Godfather and Scarface.
