How do you balance work and workout?

Balancing fitness regimen with a busy work schedule can be challenging, but I believe it's all about commitment and smart planning. I make it a priority by setting aside specific time for workouts, whether it's early in the morning or between shoots. Even small, consistent efforts like stretching or yoga during breaks keep me energised. Fitness is not just about looking good but feeling strong and focused, which helps me perform better on screen.

Gymming or yoga?

Currently, Ashtanga yoga is my favourite. Yoga is the most effective way to stay flexible, both physically and mentally. It not only keeps my body agile and strong but also ensures that my mental health stays balanced. The best part is, I can practise it anywhere, whether I’m on set or at home, making it the ideal choice for my lifestyle.

Are you a mindful eater?

Nutrition plays a huge role in my fitness and wellness routine. As an actor, maintaining energy levels, staying fit, and looking my best on screen are all crucial, and the right diet helps me achieve that. I focus on eating balanced meals that include proteins, healthy fats, and carbs to fuel my workouts and long shoots. Hydration is equally important, so I ensure I drink plenty of water throughout the day. I believe in treating food as fuel for both the body and mind.

What keeps you motivated?

Even on a busy day, I try to squeeze in a quick workout schedule, whether it’s a few yoga asanas or a quick gym session. It helps me stay energised and focused. Plus, knowing that being in good shape is a part of my job keeps me motivated. It’s all about consistency.

As an actor, do you feel the pressure to look fit?

Absolutely. As an actor, there’s definitely the pressure to look fit. However, I believe fitness isn’t just about looking good, it’s about feeling good and staying healthy. It’s important to remember that fitness is a personal journey, and to feel confident in one’s own skin matters the most.

Two fitness tips for those starting their fitness journey…

Start slow and stay consistent. Don’t rush into intense workouts. Begin with simple exercises that you enjoy, and gradually increase the intensity. Consistency is more important than perfection. Even small daily efforts can lead to big changes over time.

Focus on nutrition and rest. Fitness isn’t just about working out; it’s a lifestyle. Eat a balanced diet to fuel your body and ensure you get enough sleep to recover. Your body transforms not just in the gym but also when you’re resting.
