After successful hits like Carry On Jatta 2, Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan and Shadaa, A&A Pictures, owned and run by Atul Bhalla, is ready with another laughter riot, Puaada. Starring Ammy Virk and Sonam Bajwa, the film promises to be a complete package of family entertainment.
Atul, who believes in making meaningful cinema, says, “Punjabi film industry is making films in a different genre. A lot of comedy movies with witty punche lines and jokes do not just entertain, but also carry a social message. It is a good sign for Punjabi cinema globally.” Puaada, he believes, being one of the very few Punjabi movies to be released after over a year, will help revive the cinema-going trend post the lockdown.
The film has been directed by debutante Rupinder Chahal and Balwinder Singh Janjua; while Rupinder Chahal and Anil Rodhan have written the story and screenplay. About the movie, Atul adds, “The movie is a rom-com and is going to be a treat . Zee Studios has acquired the streaming rights (worldwide) and after theatres, it will be available on Zee’s digital or television platforms.”
Encouraging move
Though the thetrical release of this film has been postponed, producer Atul is hoping that the situation will ease out soon and Punjabi cinema eventually will bounce back. He adds, “I am hopeful that films will start lining up for theatrical releases and audiences will get to enjoy their favourite films on the big screens again.”
