Avatar 3 may not have hit theatres yet, but veteran filmmaker James Cameron has already planned the franchise’s sixth and seventh films. The director opened up about the sequels at the 51st annual Saturn Awards in Los Angeles.
“We have fully written movie number five, and I’ve got ideas for six and seven, although I’ll probably be handing the baton at that point of time,” said Cameron. Cameron, who received four awards at the ceremony, including Best Feature Director, also discussed his vision for Avatar to be a franchise similar to Star Wars and Star Trek.
Avatar 3 is expected to hit the theatres in 2025, with Avatar 4 following in 2029 and Avatar 5 in 2031. — ANI
