How did your journey begin?
It all began when I was 11 years old. I guess destiny had planned it for me. I’m always told that I am very expressive while I dance and that got me into the limelight.
What is Hari Mirch Lal Mirch… about?
Hari Mirch Lal Mirch Ek Teekhi Ek Karaari is a saas-bahu saga with a punch of powerful dramedy.
How did you come on board for the show?
It was not as easy as it may seem to be. I auditioned for it in February during the lockdown. I practiced on my own and signed the show in April end.
What attracted you to play Pushpi?
Pushpi is a very loving mother, a doting wife and a good bahu.
What were the challenges that you faced?
The biggest challenge is the dual life Pushpi lives —that is of ACP Jwala and Pushpi. They are extremely opposite personalities of one woman!

We are totally alike except for the cultural background.
Tell us about the bond you share with your co-stars…
We support and help each other all the time. It is always fun to be around them all.
Which character have you loved playing on screen?
Vanshika Banerjee and Kammo — a double role in the show Kissi Ki Nazar Na Lage. It was a daily soap on Doordarshan that was produced and directed by Raja Mukherjee.
What kind of changes have you seen in the TV industry?
Technology is changing every day and so is our industry. There are pros and cons to every situation. There is more scope to work for all with new opportunities on OTT platforms. The casting now depends on the number of followers one has on social media platforms, which is most disheartening.
