Bharat Ke Mahaveer, a three-part series launched by United Nations in India and NITI Aayog in partnership with Discovery Channel, features 12 champions from across India who have gone out of the way to help those in need during the Covid19 pandemic.

Laxmi Narayan Tripathi is one such Mahaveer. Since the lockdown, Laxmi has been distributing 200 meals daily for the needy and also partnered with local manufacturers and volunteers to meet the market demand for masks. Through her initiative Kineer, she empowers the third gender and others with employment opportunities.

Talking about the show, Laxmi says, “Everyone around the world has been trying to cope with this unprecedented situation. For some, it has been harder than the others and it is our duty to stand for them and help in any way we can.”
