Why did you take so long to sign up a new show?

I am very choosy. I don’t like repeating characters that I have played earlier, as it gets monotonous. I need to play a relevant role, which is interesting at the same time. So yes, finding such a role takes time.

Tell us about your character in Ram Pyaare Sirf Hamare.

I play the role of Koel. Right now without revealing much, I would say it’s layered, and that’s the challenge for me as an actor. She is charming, attractive, has a strong personality, and knows what she wants.

How is your show different from the other gharwali-baharwali shows and films?

It’s quite different because of the characters, which are very interesting along with an interesting plot.

You will be doing comedy in the show. What do you have to say on comedy as a genre?

Yes. I have been prepping for my role since the day I landed it, and it’s been a learning process. Comedy is not easy but when you have a great team of writers and co-actors, it helps.

Which role do you enjoy playing—negative or positive?

I don’t believe in labelling of roles as positive or negative, because in real life nobody is out and out positive or out and out negative. I believe in letting the audience judge for themselves.

TV as an industry has evolved. Your comment.

Yes, it has and massively. The new shows are very progressive. The thought process has changed, and that’s really a good change and it’s definitely working well for television.

Would you accept Bigg Boss, if offered?

Not right now, because I want people to know me more before jumping into Bigg Boss. It’s a people’s show after all.
