Mrunal Jain, who was last seen in Ye Ristha Kya Kehlata Hai, talks about his career plans

Which was your last show?

My last show was Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Before that I did a web series that is about to be released this year in 2024.

Why have you been missing from television?

First of all, my commitment to television is always there. It’s just that I was busy with Tennis Premier League, which I have been doing for the last five years, and a lot of time has gone over there to build up my IP, so the entrepreneur inside me was working and building the other part of my passion, which is sports.

What kind of offers did you get and why couldn’t you take them?

I received offers for protagonists and antagonists. Few of them really interested me, a few of them didn’t work out for me because of my date clashes.

What kind of roles are you looking for?

I would rather say that I am waiting for something that excites me. I am waiting for something that my gut feeling says that ‘Oh, it’s nice. I should do it. That’s something for which I am waiting.’

What do you have to say about changes in the entertainment industry?

There are various platforms like films, OTT, TV, theatre. All are co-existing. A wide variety of content is being made. Audiences have plenty of options. Producers are also making a variety of content.

Are you ambitious?

Of course, I am ambitious. It is important to be ambitious. One must have ambitions and goals.
