It’s not every day that we hear an actor turning musician while the reverse is more of a common scenario. Actor Paresh Pahuja, who has debuted as a singer with Vayu’s composition Mascara, says that the song has helped him create a new journey for himself since music was always his first love.

But does it take the focus away from acting? “No, I won’t be forcing myself to do something just for the sake of doing it. What as a singer I could create and bring out would be a different kind of self-expression than what I could do as an actor. So, I see every form of an art as a mode of channelising different kinds of energy within you.”

He believes eyes can’t hide love, hate or for that matter any emotion for a long time. The first thing that he is attracted to in a person is his eyes, which sums up his first romantic single, Mascara. It is a fresh take on romance and Vayu’s ode to the innumerable emotions in a woman’s eyes.

It’s a soulful melody paired with catchy groove that connects the dots between two introverts, who feel an instant connection but find it difficult to confess. Known for creating chartbusters like Baatein Karo (single), Kamariya (Stree) and Thug Ranjha (single), Vayu’s new romantic single came Paresh’s way two years back. While the audio was done immediately, the video and post-production happened this year, winding up just before the Valentine’s Day. This song made both Paresh and Akasa exchange their roles from their last collaboration, a single of Akasa, Thug Ranjha, wherein she sang the song and Paresh was featured in the video.

Making headlines with his outstanding acting prowess in recent times, Paresh has always been passionate about singing and playing the piano. During the pandemic, he also got himself a drum kit.

Excited about his debut single, Paresh said, “This is a dream come true for me as recording a song has been my ambition. So excited to start the year with this achievement. The lyrics drew me to Mascara. I just knew I had to sing it! It’s been amazing to collaborate with Vayu and Akasa again.”
