I started acting on stage at the age of six. It became a real mirror of life. I wanted to be with people and theatre gave me that opportunity. My first film was Aisha. Somebody referred me, I just went for the audition and got selected.
You stay in Delhi. How tough is it for you to juggle between two cities – Mumbai and Delhi?
I would say it was not tough because I have always given preference to Delhi-based projects. After Aisha, I did No One Killed Jessica, Fugli and Bajate Raho to name a few. Interestingly, most of these were Delhi-centric.

How do you see the OTT space?
OTT is a big boon. This medium has brought the actors and the audience closer. There was a time when we have seen superstardom on big screen, but not on OTT. It’s all about content-oriented stories. I feel OTT came into our lives at the right time.
You have done webseries and films. Are you open to working in daily soaps?
It depends on the production house and the nature of the role I am offered.
You are also teaching acting. Tell us something about it…
Last year during the lockdown we had no idea what to do, as we couldn’t guess what was coming up next. So, I have started this online course for budding actors.

Anurag Kashyap.
Are you comfortable working during the pandemic?
I am happy to have work despite a pandemic! Work and life can’t stop, but we all have to take precautions.
