Porn case: SC grants protection from arrest to Sherlyn Chopra

The Supreme Court gave protection from arrest to actress Sherlyn Chopra on Friday in a porn video case in which Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra also stands accused.

A Bench led by Justice Vineet Saran also issued notice on her petition challenging a Bombay High Court order rejecting her anticipatory bail plea.

On January 18, the Supreme Court had granted protection from arrest to model Poonam Pandey in the case.

 The FIR was registered on a complaint by one MK Keni against certain websites and online platforms containing obscene videos.

Pandey had contended she was not a partner or owner of any of those platforms and that the complaint against her was that some video portraying her is available on certain websites. She had claimed she was a victim and not an accused and that all her videos allegedly circulated on certain porn websites had already been blocked by central agencies in 2015.
