Pratyusha Banerjee's father says Sidharth Shukla was like a son, helped him during lockdown

With his fans grieving and the entertainment industry under shock, Sidharth Shukla’s death has made everyone stop and think. He was fit, doing well in his career and suddenly he didn’t wake up from sleep. As everyone remembers the 'Balika Vadhu' actor, Shankar Banerjee, late actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s father shares how Sidharth was no less than a son for him. In an interview with Aaj Tak, he said, “I can’t understand how this happened. I considered him to be my son. During 'Balika Vadhu', Sidharth and Pratyusha had become close friends. He used to come home as well. After Pratyusha’s death, many people talked about the relationship between Sidharth and my daughter, because of which Sidharth had stopped coming home. He often asked me in messages on WhatsApp.”

In this difficult time of pandemic, Sidharth had also offered financial help to Banerjee family. “During this lockdown, he used to constantly message me. I got his last message a couple of months ago. He used to ask in the message ‘Uncle, aunty do you need help?’, ‘Are you guys fine?’, ‘Can I help in any way?’ He had forcibly sent Rs 20,000.”

Just like Shankar Banerjee, Sidharth’s death has left everyone is in disbelief.

After a great start as a model, Sidharth debuted in acting with TV show 'Babul Ka Aangann Choote Na'. Some shows later came 'Balika Vadhu' that catapulted him to stardom and 'Bigg Boss 13' made him a household name. He not only won the show but became a favourite among its viewers. Sidharth had also won 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 7' and hosted 'Savdhaan India' and 'India’s Got Talent'. Having featured in movies such as 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' and 'Business in Kazakhastan', he was last seen in web series 'Broken But Beautiful' 3 as the lead.
