Priyanka Chopra and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap are among the 50 celebrated actors and filmmakers invited as ambassadors of the slimmed-down Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this year.
The festival, scheduled from September 10 to September 19, will be opting for digital screenings and virtual red carpets for the first time owing to the Covid-19 situation.
The actress and the filmmaker will reportedly join Oscar winners and celebrated international names, including filmmakers Martin Scorsese, Alfonso Cuaron, Taika Waititi, Ava DuVernay, Rian Johnson, Denis Villeneuve, and actors Nicole Kidman, Nadine Labaki, Riz Ahmed, Isabelle Huppert and Zhang Ziyi.
This year, TIFF will complete 45 years and it plans to screen 50 films during its first five days in theatres through socially-distanced screenings. Festival-goers can also opt for drive-ins to experience cinema.
