During the lockdown, I would stay up till 3 am and sleep till 12 noon. But now that I am back to shoots, my lifestyle has become normal, and I follow a proper routine. I go to sleep by 11 – 11.30 pm. Before sleeping, I binge-watch some show and then I cuddle with my pets for a while. This makes me happy and gives me peace.

I am a night person. Silence brings out creativity, so I write at night. If I am having trouble sleeping, I go for walks or watch the view from my terrace. Before sleeping, I put in my ear pods and listen to deep sleep music. It takes me to a relaxed zone.

I was in Delhi during this lockdown. The whole day I used to binge-watch series and sleep at odd hours. Now that I am back in Mumbai, I sleep by 10 pm as I get up at 5.30 in the morning. Talking about my bedtime ritual, I have this skin care routine which I follow. Then I write a good night message to all.

Yoga to the rescue

I am an early riser, but in the lockdown my daily routine was disturbed very badly. At night I make up my mind about what I have to do the next day. It really works for me and the best thing is doing yoga and meditation. Relaxing your mind makes you fall asleep easily and gives you a good sleep.

Prayer in her lips

Well, my dad always told me to get up early, so thankfully in the lockdown also there was no change in my sleeping pattern. If someone is suffering from a sleep disorder, I think the solution is not to sleep after lunch and try to go to sleep early by 9 or 10 pm. I always say my prayers before sleeping.

In the first 15 days of the lockdown, I faced a lot of problems. I was watching web series at night and my sleep pattern was very bad. But I realised it soon and stopped sleeping in the afternoon. Before sleeping, I have a cup of green tea. That’s a habit now. Also, I read and at times watch some comedy movie.

Watch, read, pray

Initially, I was excited as I haven’t been on a holiday for very long. I used to stay up all night and sleep till noon. But then my eyes started hurting and I got dark circles. So, I decided to get it under control, as it’s really not healthy to stay up all night. At bedtime, I usually watch some movie or series and then read a few pages from a book. I also pray.

God on her mind
Urvashi Upadhyay Sharle

When the lockdown was extended, we thought we should do things which we could not do as a family earlier. So, we started getting up early, did yoga, skipping and hula hooping. We have explored many things. My bedtime ritual is reading the Hanuman Chalisa.
