The trailer of Ranbir Kapoor’s most-awaited film Shamshera is finally out. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role and also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor. With already so much excitement around the film, the trailer takes it a notch higher as it unveils that Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in the first dual role of his career.

The high-octane, adrenaline-pumping entertainer is set in the 1800s when India was under British rule. We see Ranbir as a dacoit who steals from the wealthy. Then enters Vaani Kapoor as Sona, a dancer and Shamshera’s golden girl, who warns him to not mess with the Britishers.

Set in the fictitious city of Kaza, we are then given glimpses of a warrior tribe imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shudh Singh played by Sanjay Dutt, who is brought to Kaza to control Shamshera. From being a slave to becoming a leader and then a legend for his tribe, Ranbir Kapoor as Shamshera relentlessly fights for his tribe's freedom and dignity.

Sanjay Dutt as Ranbir’s arch-enemy is menacing in the trailer. As the two ferociously go after each other with no mercy, action-lovers are in for a treat. It’s the last scene of the trailer that confirms Ranbir’s double role as the two appear in a single frame.

Shamshera also stars Ashutosh Rana, Saurabh Shukla, Ronit Roy, Tridha Choudhury, and Pitobash Tripathy. Directed by Karan Malhotra, this action period drama has been produced by Aditya Chopra and is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on July 22.
