Shefali Jariwala of 'Kaanta Laga', 'Bigg Boss' fame dies

Actress and dancer Shefali Jariwala, widely known for her iconic appearance in the 2002 music video “Kaanta Laga”, passed away late Friday night at the age of 42.

She was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, actor Parag Tyagi, but was declared dead on arrival.

Preliminary reports suggest cardiac arrest as the cause of death, though a postmortem at Cooper Hospital is underway. Mumbai Police are questioning her domestic staff as part of standard procedure.

Shefali gained further fame through reality shows like Bigg Boss 13 and Nach Baliye. Her sudden death has shocked fans and the entertainment industry, with tributes pouring in from celebrities, including singer Mika Singh and actress Kamya Punjabi.

"I’m deeply shocked, saddened, and feeling a heavy heart… Our beloved star and my dearest friend @shefalijariwala has left us. Still can’t believe it. You will always be remembered for your grace, smile, and spirit. Om Shanti 🙏🙏🙏," wrote Mika.
