Singer Nishawn Bhullar has come up with a soft romantic number, Zyada Vadia

Reminiscing about college love, thinking of those times together with fondness even after one drifts apart, are some emotions that come to life in Nishawn Bhullar’s new song Zyada Vadia that also features Himanshi Khurana and has Jass Bajwa in a cameo avatar.

Composed by Vishal Misra and penned by Babbu, this ode to unfinished love stories has a deeper message as Nishawn explains, “Many people come into our lives but due to some unfavourable circumstances we drift apart. We have the tendency to badmouth some, hold grudges because we can’t deal with separation. I feel we should be grateful for the good times we had with them and remember them with positivity. So, while this song is about being appreciative about your college-time sweetheart, we indirectly are telling you to look at every relationship with affection.

God sends everyone for a reason and their duration in your life is until they live the purpose. If we keep the bigger picture in mind, once they move on, we will free ourselves of bitterness and resentment.”

Nishawn likes to look at the current times in the same light. But he agrees there are challenges. “Our work is not based on one person. It involves over 40 to 50 people to bring out one song. Now, if I were to think of just myself, maybe I will be able to fight Covid-19 because I am still young. But we all go back to our families and that brings a lot of worry. With a lot of precautions and effort we work these days but it is so important for us to keep working. It keeps us motivated, gives us satisfaction.”

The pandemic may have posed varied difficulties but for this Punjabi singer-actor it has brought a fresh start in his life. Be it his style of singer or his outlook towards life, he has experienced a transformation.

“Earlier, I would get angry when things wouldn’t get done but sitting at home for months taught me patience. In the beginning, the lockdown brought stress in my life. I started eating unhealthy and would get worried thinking ‘what now’. It was because I was so used to being on the go. There was no time to stop and think about anything. So, initially when it happened, I couldn’t handle it but there was no choice. When I started to observe myself, I realised this time was a blessing. I focused on my health, discovered that my style is not just those party songs with heavy beats. I can do romantic numbers with much ease now.”

With some melodious numbers in the recent past, Nishawn is now excited about his upcoming songs. “They are sure to surprise my listeners,” he promises.

“It was a very special video. I fell in love with the song when I first heard it. The emotions are so wonderfully laced with the words and the tune. I had a lot of fun putting the video together because somewhere, one could revisit the good old days of innocence, and that sweet churn in the heart for that special someone. Memories of that love seem fresh even years after one moves on,” says Himanshi Khurana.
