Siblings rock the show
Following a performance by Ariana Grande, the superstar siblings took to the stage, delivering an emotional rendition of When the party’s over, a single featured on Eilish’s last album.
They took to the stage again after winning song of the year for Bad guy. “I don’t even know what to say, I didn’t even think we’d win for this,” O’Connell said. “Thank you,” Eilish and O’Connell said in a speech at the end of the night after their record of the year win, which immediately preceded album of the year.
“Can I just say that I think Ariana deserves this?” Eilish said during that acceptance speech.
“We didn’t write a speech for this because we didn’t make this album to win a Grammy,” O’Connell said. “We didn’t think it would win anything, ever. We wrote an album about depression and suicidal thoughts and climate change and being the bad guy — whatever that means. And we stand up here confused and grateful,” he added.

Tanya Tucker wins first Grammy, 47 years after her first nomination in 1973
Country music star Tanya Tucker took home her first two wins. The 61-year-old singer won for best country song for Bring my flowers now and best country album for While I’m Livin’. “After 50 years in this business, I have a few firsts left,” said Tucker in her speech. Tucker was first nominated for a Grammy in 1973 for Delta dawn. Prior to this year, she’d been nominated 10 times, but hadn’t won an award. Her last nominations came in 1994. While I’m Livin’, which generated three nominations this year, was her first album of new studio material in 19 years.
Michelle Obama wins Grammy for Becoming audio book
Former US First Lady Michelle Obama is a Grammy winner now! Obama was honoured with the best spoken word album of the year award for her bestselling memoir Becoming during the 2020 Grammy’s pre-show festivities. Becoming follows Obama’s life growing up on the South Side of Chicago through her years as first lady of the United States.
She is not the only Grammy winner in the family, as her husband, former US President Barack Obama has won two Grammy awards in the same category for his memoirs Dreams from My Father (2006) and The Audacity of Hope (2008). Obama is also the second first lady to win a Grammy. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also took home a Grammy in the same category for her book, It Takes a Village, in 1997.
Priyanka’s special tribute to Kobe Bryant
Actress Priyanka Chopra paid tribute to the late basketball star Kobe Bryant in a special way at the Grammys. The news broke earlier on Sunday that Bryant and his daughter had passed away in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California.
Priyanka took a moment to style her decorated nails with the number “24” written on her index finger. That number belonged to Bryant, who played for the Los Angeles Lakers for 20 years before he retired in 2016. “RIP Mamba,” Priyanka shared on Instagram Story with a purple heart emoji, alongside an image of her tribute.
While attending the 2020 Grammys, she walked arm-in-arm with her husband and singer Nick Jonas.
