Chandigarh, January 15

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has shared a video where he stands beside a Spice Jet flight which displays his photo painted upon the outer body of flight with a felicitation message of his social work during pandemic.

The aircraft has a large photograph of actor with the text, "A salute to the saviour Sonu Sood", written on it. Mr Sood during the first and second wave worked proactively to arrange food, accommodation, and safe travel for migrants and homeless across the nation. “Finally, it happened today,” he wrote on Twitter along with a video.

Sonu Sood also took selfie with the co-passengers and flight staff. “This journey is very special and all thanks to spice jet for giving me this honour. During pandemic, I saw pictures of this aircraft and wished to travel and finally it happened today”, said the actor

The actor also reminisce his memories of past when he came to Mumbai on an unreserved ticket with aspirations of becoming an actor, and now when he has been honoured in such an amazing way, makes him miss his parents.

Spice Jet and Sonu Sood had worked together at the very beginning of the pandemic to help bring home thousands of Indians stuck abroad. The airline unveiled the special livery in March last year, saying it dedicated it to honour the “unparalleled contribution” of Sonu at helping Indians stranded abroad during the first wave.

"Your work is an inspiration for us. India needs heroes and she got one during this pandemic. Keep up the good work, @sonusood. We are there for you, and with you in this wonderful journey filled with love and compassion," SpiceJet tweeted

As part of their collaborative efforts, nearly 1500 students stranded in Kyrgyzstan were brought back to India.
