Singer Shael Oswal says he pours all his emotions into his songs

Do these songs, Sohniye Hiriye, Zindagi, Tere Naal and Dil Ki Baatein ring a bell? Well, these all come from the stable of romantic singer Shael Oswal. He got married last year in Singapore with Porus actor Sameksha Oswal, who had flown to the country to shoot for his song Tere Naal. As another song, Ishaara, released in February, he says, “The lyrics of the last three releases of mine are very much inspired by real-life incidents, feelings and emotions. My bond with my wife somehow grew with each song we did together. We collaborated for the first time with the song Makhmalii Pyaar and then there was no turning back. The bond which started as a professional one turned into friendship and then to romance and now marriage.”
Shael does not wish to promote or produce content which cannot be watched or listened with one’s family. “I have so far stayed away from music which has liquor, drug culture or sensuous content. I am just glad to launch the kind of music which I felt was missing in the Indian market.”
Talking about their wedding, Sameksha says, “Rarely do we find a partner with whom our emotional wavelength is of the same frequency. We both wanted an intimate wedding because it is about two human beings ready to spend their life together.”
The warmth that his songs radiate has always stolen the hearts of his fans, but Ishaara is different for it is simply based on an old love, reincarnation, ghost and an old haveli. They shot the entire video for the song at his ancestral farmhouse in Chhatarpur, Delhi. The song is directed by none other than Sameksha under their new venture SSO Productions and beautiful Shivangi Verma of Nach Baliye-fame was roped in to pair with Shael. The track is beautifully composed by Vidyut Goswami and lyrics are penned by Vimal Kashyap. The couple is working on a script for a web series which they wish to produce under their new venture.
And owning up to his roots in Ludhiana, Shael has only one complain about his parents, “I was sent to a boarding school at an early stage of my life, so I feel bad that I do not speak Punjabi language the way I should have been. I will have this regret all my life. I would love to sing a Punjabi number after polishing my speaking skills a bit.” Recently in Chandigarh for the promotions, Shael although enjoyed his mother-in-law’s home-cooked meals but he managed to explore one or two local restaurants.
Sharing his excitement and experience working with his life partner and director, Sameksha Oswal, he says, “She is very creative. She writes her own concept and knows how to execute them on screen with ease. There is a different comfort level when she is directing because she understands me well and I understand what she wants to get out of me as an actor.”
