Digvijay Purohit, who was seen in shows like Na Aana Is Des Laado, Balika Vadhu and Baatein Kuch Ankahi Si, along with web series such as The Empire, Tanaav 2 and State of Siege 26/11, and movies like Sam Bahadur, Yodha and The Sabarmati Report, is seen as Dalip in Dreamiyata Entertainment’s Tu Juliet Jatt Di, which is produced by Sargun Mehta and Ravie Dubey. He shared that the show is quite different. He said, “I would say the script felt very refreshing. When I read the first few episodes, they did not look like typical daily soaps. The characters felt modern and relatable. The language was natural and not like the usual dramatic dialogues we hear in daily soaps. The show felt different on paper, and that is what attracted me. Also, knowing the kind of unique shows Dreamiyata has made earlier gave me confidence in the project.” He also shared that the character is quite relatable for him. He said, “The dynamics shown between the father, mother, and son feel very real and close to what we see in many households. In my character’s world, the mother pampers the son a lot, and because of that, society sees him as a little spoiled. The father is a bit strict and wants discipline. These small frictions exist in many families, and I have seen similar relationships in real life, even in my own home.”
“So, the emotional structure and relationships felt very familiar to me. That is why I connected with the role instantly,” he added.
Digvijay also revealed that as the story moves forward, different layers of his character will unfold in a very interesting way. He said, “I am happy I got the chance to play such a powerful role. The character loves his son deeply, but he also wants to see him grow and improve. He wants him to face challenges and become responsible.”
“Here, the entire cast is Punjabi, and in the upcoming episodes, we will be celebrating Punjabi culture in many ways. The girl’s family in the show is fully Punjabi, so I get to experience the culture closely. I love Punjabi food, festivals, and the overall vibe, so working on this show feels exciting,” he added.
