There is a growing debate that OTT platforms are the future of entertainment and that, theatres will find it difficult to pull people in hoards like they used to. We talk to film-maker and YRF’s home-grown producer Maneesh Sharma for his take. Maneesh says, “There seems to be a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel. Things were looking hopeless a month back but now we can see that things will become ok soon.”

Maneesh is celebrating his birthday with his family in Delhi today. He will return to Mumbai soon to resume work on his next project. The film-maker, who has directed films like Band Baaja Baarat, Shudh Desi Romance and Fan, feels that going to cinema with friends, families and loved ones is intrinsic to our culture.

“We have an extremely social culture; I think if a film is good, people will turn up at the theatres. I have no doubt about that,” says Maneesh.
