Entertainment industry shocked as actor Sidharth Shukla passes away

“Feeling sorry for the state Afghanistan is in….Does humanity still exist…!!!!,” posted Sidharth Shukla with a monochrome picture only about two weeks back. The sad demeanour in the picture stands out as the rest of his Insta page that has him in colourful attire, sharing about his projects and endorsements.

That this very fit actor left us all so soon has come as a shock to the industry. Bigg Boss 13 winner Sidharth Shukla is said to have suffered a massive heart attack in the morning hours of Thursday. He was 40. He is survived by his mother and two sisters. Sidharth recently appeared on reality shows Bigg Boss OTT and Dance Deewane 3 with rumoured girlfriend Shehnaaz Gill. Born on December 12, 1980 in Mumbai, Sidharth’s family has roots in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Sidharth won the audience with his character Shiv, a caring husband, in popular show Balika Vadhu in 2008.

Sadly, in July, this show’s dadi sa Surekha Sikri passed away; its lead artiste Pratyusha Banerjee was found hanging in 2016. That makes three of the immensely popular show’s lead artistes gone, two of them too soon. Sidharth was also seen as Parth Ramnik Bhanushali Dil Se Dil Tak. He won fame for his stints in reality shows such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss 13. On the Bollywood front, Siddharth was a part of films like Humpty Sharma Ke Dulhania. The actor was last seen on screen in Ekta Kapoor’s popular show Broken But Beautiful 3.

Director Ashish Shrivastav who directed him in Dil Se Dil Tak said, “The news of Sidharth passing is just terrible. He was full of life and he was a very straightforward person. He did not shy away from saying what he felt, and I liked that quality in him. We shared a good equation. I still can’t believe he is no more.”

“He was like a younger brother, I loved him,” shared actor Eijaz Khan. “I looked up to him; I looked up to his understanding approach and fairness. This really feels personal, I just pray for strength and patience to his closed ones and family, I will always be Team Sidharth,” said the grief-stricken actor.

His untimely demise shook the entertainment industry; right from his co-stars to big Bollywood names took to social media to express the shock and sadness. “Gone too soon Siddharth… you shall be missed. Condolences to the family… RIP,” posted actor and Bigg Boss host Salman Khan. “Really sad to know about the passing away of #SiddharthShukla. I didn’t know him personally but it’s heartbreaking to know of such a talented life gone so soon. Om Shanti,” posted actor Akshay Kumar.

“Rip brother, you are loved by so many and you touched so many with your kind heart and beautiful personality. Today heaven has gained a star and we have lost one. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones,” posted actor Varun Dhawan with a picture of him with Sidharth and Alia Bhatt. The trio worked in Humpty Sharma Ke Dulhania together.

“Gone to soon bro @sidharth_shukla your glow will be with us forever and your loss is just irreplaceable! There was no winner like you in #Biggboss and there never will be another, lagta hai buri nazar par ab hamesha vishvas karna padega ! #RipSidharthShukla,” posted Vindu Dara Singh.
