What is the reason for staying away from TV?

I wasn’t willing to take up anything that wasn’t worth my time and energy. I wanted to explore other avenues. I did OTT. Also, I was trying for films. Every actor, after a point, wants to come on big screen. I am still trying. Let’s see when it clicks.

The industry has evolved over the years. What is your viewpoint?

Absolutely, it has evolved, and I think many TV actors are getting opportunities to work in films. Nepotism, I feel, has decreased. There are many actors like Mrunal Thakur and Shehnaaz Gill, who have made their place in the Hindi film industry. They are all huge inspirations for all of us.

What kind of work do you want to do?

I would love to play the lead on TV.

Actors are nowadays working in all three mediums — TV, OTT and films. So, there is no much difference unlike earlier when TV actors were considered less than Hindi cinema actors. Comment.

Today, there are many TV actors who have bigger fan followings than big-screen actors, and TV actors are doing really well. I am really proud of being a part of the TV industry.

What is that one thing that you like about being an actor the most?

There are two things actually. First, I get to live different personalities through my characters and second, I get to understand different personalities through my characters because, as it is said, “shows aur films ke characters real life se inspired hote hai”. So, that helps me understand people better in real life too.

What are your future plans?

To do films and do a lead role on a show. I believe in destiny. Wherever my destiny takes me, I’ll be there.

What changes you find in the entertainment industry over the years?

The entertainment industry has evolved in many ways. Content is the king now. It is far more organised and creative than earlier.
