Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s pre-wedding festivities were as colourful as their wedding. The couple kicked-off the celebrations with mehendi ceremony in Mumbai on Thursday.
The function was held at Farhan’s home and it was attended by Shabana Azmi, Shibani’s sisters Anusha Dandekar and Apeksha Dandekar, her friends Rhea Chakraborty, Amrita Arora among others. All the guests were dressed in yellow outfits.
Shibani, who also opted for a yellow outfit for her mehendi, danced her heart out with friends and family members. She performed on ‘Aankh Mare’ from Ranveer Singh’s film Simmba.

A video of Shibani’s sisters Anusha Dandekar, Apeksha Dandekar and Shibani’s close friend Rhea Chakraborty dancing at a the mehendi function went viral on social media. In the video, Anusha, Apeksha, Rhea and Shibani’s friends from abroad, are seen dancing to Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’s iconic song Mehendi Laga Ke Rakhna.

Earlier this week, Farhan had his bachelor party. The actor-director shared a picture with his friends. The group included Ritesh Sidhwani and Shakeel Ladak. One of his friends held cut-outs of Shibani and Farhan’s faces. Farhan wrote, “The boys are back in town. #stagdaynightfever,” Shibani commented on the post, she said, “Umm… technically I am there too.”

Farhan and Shibani will reportedly have a court marriage on February 21, following which they will host a reception for their celebrity friends.
