Young singer Dhvani Bhanushali is making waves with her soulful voice

Young singer Dhvani Bhanushali is making headlines with her latest song Mehendi. The singer has collaborated with the actor of the web series Guilty, Gurfateh Pirzada, for the song. As suggests her name, she is known for lending her melodious voice to songs like Leja Re, Baby Girl, Psycho Sayiaan, Kinna Sonna, among others. Notably, her song Vaaste made her the youngest Indian to have the fastest one billion views on YouTube! Dhvani and Gurfateh, share some candid moments from the making of the song.

After Nayan become a hit, Mehendi is yet another song that also has a Gujarati flavour. She says, “It’s my gift to the listeners ahead of Navratri. It was a great opportunity to sing with Vishal Dadlani.’ The video is shot in the beautiful locales of Udaipur in Rajasthan. Talking about Gurfateh, the singer says, “He is a really sweet boy to hang out with. I did not try to teach him how to sing; maybe, next time.” Penned by Priya Saraiya, Mehendi has been composed by Lijo George and DJ Chetas.

Chandigarh boy Gurfateh enjoyed working with Dhvani and has given the thumbs up for any other collaboration. Says Gurfateh, “I heard the song and really liked it. The story that was pitched also made sense to me. Also, I knew the director very well. So, there were many reasons to do this music video. The shooting of the song, although hectic because of long shooting hours, went really smoothly. Dhvani and I became really good friends after the shoot. ” The actor will make his Bollywood debut with multi-starrer Brahmastra, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Dimple Kapadia.

Pollywood call: I am from Chandigarh, so would love to do something in Punjab. Not sure if it would be music videos. Got a couple of offers of Punjabi films as well, but it did not work out. I would love to work with Diljit at some point in my career.

Lyrics or music: I connect with lyrics first and if the music is great, it’s just a bonus.
