The unique thing about our film is that it speaks about infertility, which a lot of people don’t talk about in the open. But it is a very common problem in couples these days, especially in the cities with stressful jobs of people and more.

How do you think people should deal with the topic of infertility?

People should be open about it. I mean now we have passed those times wherein we don’t talk about taboo topics. There should be proper communication about your partner’s health.

You have worked with Shipra and Shivankar Arora in the past. How is your bond with them?

I have worked with Shivankar before. I have known about Shipra recently, but, yes, it was an absolute treat to work with the two of them. Their combination is fantastic, Shipra writes the scripts and Shivankar directs.

What do you think has kept you going in so many different mediums?

The fact that I, thankfully, can balance everything has kept me going in different mediums. I have done theatre in school. I have been doing TV and web, and now short films.

What kind of roles are you looking out for on TV?

I’m very happy with the kind of roles that I’m doing on TV, be it in Anupamaa or Kumkum Bhagya. Both are very good roles. Both are different kinds of characters, but, yes, I would definitely love to be back in Anupamaa and be Anirudh again.

How has Anupamaa impacted your career?

Anupamaa has definitely added stars to my career graph. Now, things are growing from there. I am on web projects and TV too.

Who is your inspiration and why?

People who work very hard every day; right from your light man to spot boy to co-actors.

How do you balance personal and professional life?

At times, there are a lot of sacrifices that you have to make. For me, work always comes first. And now my partner Ketki also stands by that motto. After that, whenever I can, I give time to my family.

Rushad Rana is one of the few Parsis in the entertainment industry. How do you feel about that?

I feel proud to be one of the few Parsis who are a part of the industry and who are in a way making the community proud.
