The Dabangii: Mulgii Aayi Re Aayi actress Yashashri Masurkar says that her love for showbiz developed right from her childhood. She loved to watch TV and soon realised that she wanted to be part of this world.

“I started showing signs way before I could even understand it. In my childhood, we didn’t have a TV. So, I would go to my neighbour’s house to watch TV on Sunday. Thank God my neighbours didn’t mind. Because I used to be at their doorstep at 7 am and used to be glued to the screen till 1 pm. I knew it somewhere in my heart but hadn’t realised it,” she says.

Ask her if she remembers the first film she saw, and she says, “Funnily enough, I remember a film called Rikshawali, which we saw on the VCR my dad hired on my birthday.”

She adds, “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun was the film that changed things for me. This was when I felt like I wanted to be part of this world. Madhuri has inspired me since then. I always wanted to look like her, be like her. Unfortunately, I am not trained to dance like her but she has been my first inspiration to become an actress ever since.”

Ask her what she wants to do next, and she says, “I have done theatre during college days but I prefer screen acting. Like every actor, I prefer films and because of the richness of content, I am interested in OTT too.”
