The CBI (DSP) LDCE stands for the Central Bureau of Investigation (Deputy Superintendent of Police) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination.
This is a prestigious internal promotional exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for eligible in-service officers of the CBI and other specified organisations to be promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police, a Group 'A' Gazetted Officer position.

Selection Process
The selection process typically comprises the following stages:
Written Examination: A competitive written test covering General Studies, Law (IPC, CrPC, Evidence Act, Prevention of Corruption Act), Criminology, Forensic Science, and Internal Security. Some papers may be descriptive/essay-type and others objective.
Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates who qualify in the written exam must meet the required physical standards.
Interview/Personality Test: A final interview to assess leadership ability, integrity, decision-making skills, and overall personality.
