The ED wants to know whether celebrity endorsements helped an offshore betting company, banned in India, gain legitimacy and lure lakhs of unsuspecting users. ANI

The Enforcement Directorate’s summons list now reads like a celebrity roll call. Former cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa, actor Sonu Sood, and starlet Urvashi Rautela are among those called in connection with the agency’s probe into the Russian-origin betting app 1xBet.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
