According to Muhammad Saleem Beg, convenor of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) in Jammu and Kashmir, ‘Ancient temples in Kashmir are historically significant and in terms of archaeology, they are very rich. The Archaeological Survey of India has also done a very good job of protecting them — even in times of disturbance.’ ANI
